Kawayan, at 4859 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, began as a neighborhood spot celebrating Filipino food. Named after bamboo for strength and resilience, it has been a local favorite for homestyle dishes. In 2024, new ownership brought fresh energy and expanded the menu while keeping authentic family recipes and traditional flavors alive.

Our dishes are made with care using heritage techniques. Longaniza and tocino are marinated with family recipes, and meats are cooked low and slow.
